Heather Feather's Story
Creativity has been a generational gift, that has passed down through the women in my family. Being a professional sign artist, my mother was able to support us both through her creative work. Growing up, I would draw at the kitchen table with my grandmother, a gifted artist who never had the opportunity to fully pursue her own dreams. It amazed me how she could bring simple lines to life, and how that would shape who I would one day become.
Heather Feather's Life
As life unfolded, and I became a mother, time drifted on and art moved in and out of my focus. I spent more than twenty years working in veterinary medicine. Years doing work rooted in care, responsibility, and service, all while raising five sons. In many ways, I felt my and my sons all grew up together. Those years were filled with trying to escape survival mode. That meant having to make ends meet, managing stress, and searching for love in all the wrong places. Through it all, Art stayed quietly tucked in my heart waiting patiently for me to return.

About six years ago, after discovering artist Whitney Freya and her intuitive painting practices, it reignited something essential in me. I learned that time spent creating is sacred, and that some of life’s deepest lessons reveal themselves at the canvas. Painting became more than something I loved, it became something I needed. Today, I teach paint classes, receive commissions, and I am trained in art integration for both math and reading education. Life continues to challenge me, by allowing me to present my work publicly, embrace vulnerabilities, and refine my craft, while doing what I love to do.
